Job Title: CAD/CAM Programmer

Job Type: Days based, Perm

Location: Quedgeley, Gloucestershire

Hours: 7am-4pm Mon-Thurs / 7am-1pm Fri

Pay: Circa £42,000 - £44,000 DOE

Our client has the state-of-the-art equipment and provides precision engineering to their client support a variety of projects. Mainly focusing on the following industries: Automotive, Defence, Medical and Nuclear.

The role:
CAD/CAM Programmer is responsible for creating, optimising, and managing CNC programs using advanced CAD/CAM software, with a strict focus on digital manufacturing processes. This role is fully offline programming and does not involve any hands-on machining or shop-floor responsibilities.

Duties:
Programme 3 & 5 axis jobs using Alphacam and/or Fusion360
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications to ensure accurate toolpath creation.
Simulate and verify toolpaths to eliminate collisions and optimize cycle times.
Select appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, and machining parameters digitally.
Collaborate with design engineers and manufacturing teams to improve manufacturability.
Maintain and manage program libraries, templates, and machining standards.
Troubleshoot and refine programs based on feedback (without operating machines).
Ensure all programs meet quality, safety, and production requirements before release.

Compulsory skills:-
The candidate must have a minimum of 4 years programming experience
Alphacam and/or Fusion360 experience is a must
