Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and reliable HGV Mixer Driver to join our Ready Mix team. In this role, you will operate heavy goods vehicles equipped with concrete mixers, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of materials to construction sites and other designated locations. Your expertise will help keep projects on schedule while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities

Safely operate HGV trucks fitted with concrete mixers, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of the vehicle and mixer equipment to ensure optimal functioning
Plan efficient delivery routes to meet project deadlines and optimize fuel consumption
Load and unload materials at various sites, ensuring accuracy and proper handling of concrete mixes
Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance records
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve issues promptly
Follow all safety protocols during driving, loading, unloading, and operating the mixer equipment

Requirements

Valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) license with a clean driving record
Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with HGV mixers or similar heavy vehicles
Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
Familiarity with operating excavators or other construction machinery is a plus but not essential
Ability to work independently in a physically demanding environment while maintaining attention to safety details
Strong communication skills for coordinating deliveries and reporting any concerns or incidents
Flexibility to work various shifts including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
