You will also oversee the academy’s wider behaviour provision, including the Internal Suspension Room, ensuring effective support that reduces repeat referrals and boosts long-term engagement.

Working with pastoral staff, teachers, safeguarding teams and external agencies, you will track behaviour, analyse data and deliver targeted interventions that help students stay in class, make progress and meet expectations.

About the role

You will:

Analyse behaviour patterns, monitor referrals and create intervention plans that reduce repeat incidents and support improved conduct.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop strategies that support inclusion, prevent escalation and improve classroom behaviour.
Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding behaviour concerns, progress and reintegration expectations.
Work closely with the Inclusion Team and SEN colleagues to support vulnerable students with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Respond to behaviour incidents, de-escalate situations safely and make informed decisions in line with academy policy.
Support the consistent implementation of behaviour and safeguarding procedures, ensuring all concerns are accurately recorded.
Line-manage staff working within behaviour spaces and model high professional standards.

Successful experience of working with young people, including those with challenging behaviour or additional needs.
Proven experience of supporting behaviour, de-escalation, restorative practice and preventing exclusion.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff, and volunteers, to share the same commitment. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
