Stroud,

Are you passionate about creating fun, accessible spaces where disabled children and their families can thrive?

We’re looking for a warm, energetic and adaptable person to deliver our stay and play sessions and support with other family activities. At Allsorts, no two days are the same. You’ll be part of a passionate, supportive team helping families build confidence, and connections. This is your chance to make a real impact - and have a lot of fun along the way!

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging family activities as part of a dynamic team, including the Head of Families, Families Coordinator, Families Activity Leader and volunteers.
  • Facilitate participation and inclusion for children and families with a wide range of needs, including non-speaking children and those with behaviours that challenge.
  • Create positive, high-quality experiences for children, young people and their parent/carers at every session.
  • Champion safety and inclusion by implementing Allsorts’ policies and procedures and ensuring all activities are safe, legal and welcoming.
  • Listen to, and act on member feedback to help shape activities that meet families’ needs and expectations.
  • Work collaboratively within the team to foster a warm, supportive and inclusive environment for all members.
  • Support and guide volunteers to ensure sessions run safely and smoothly.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation, recording feedback and outcomes to help improve future activities.
  • Use positive behaviour support strategies where training and guidance have been provided.
  • Take responsibility for practical duties, including secure locking up of venues after sessions.
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks as required, working closely with the Head of Families to support the success of the Allsorts’ family programme.

Personal Specification:

Essential

  • Experience creating inclusive, engaging spaces for disabled children and those with additional needs, ensuring children feel welcome and supported.
  • Be a consistent and reliable presence with the ability to foster positive connections with the children and their families.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening and the ability to adapt communication styles to meet individual needs.
  • A genuine passion for inclusion and a belief that all children and families should have equal access to play, friendship and fun.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond positively to changing needs and situations.
  • Commitment to learning and development, including undertaking relevant training to enhance skills and understanding.
  • Ability to follow and apply policies and procedures to maintain safe, high-quality standards.

Desirable

  • Training or experience in moving and handling, positive behaviour management, and safeguarding.
