Are you an experienced or aspiring KS2 teacher looking for your next exciting challenge? We are seeking a passionate, dedicated teacher to join our wonderful school community and lead our Year 6 class. Experience teaching Y6 is desirable, but a strong commitment to high-quality learning and pupil wellbeing is essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact at the top end of our school, preparing pupils for the next stage of their learning journey as they transition to secondary school. Although we have mixed-age classes across the school, Year 6 is taught as a single year group, something we know works brilliantly to consolidate learning and build confidence.
Coberley C of E Primary School is a small, nurturing village school with 74 pupils on roll, set in beautiful surroundings just 10 minutes from Charlton Kings and within easy reach of Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cirencester and Stroud. Our vision, “Nurtured, Cherished and Inspired for Fullness of Life,” is lived out daily by our pupils, staff, parents and governors.
What our pupils, staff and community hope for in their new teacher
· A strong commitment to our school vision and to every child’s success.
· Someone who makes learning fun, is firm but fair, listens well, and helps children feel valued and understood.
· A teacher who builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, governors and the wider community.
· Someone who takes pride in teaching Year 6, making their final year truly special through plays, residentials, leadership roles, and memorable experiences.
· A colleague who contributes enthusiastically to school life.
· A skilled practitioner with high expectations and the ability to create a calm, inspiring learning environment.
· A teacher willing to lead a subject and keen to develop their professional responsibilities.
What Coberley can offer you
· Wonderful children who love learning and are polite, kind and a joy to teach.
· A supportive, collaborative staff team who work closely together.
· A welcoming and active ‘Friends of Coberley’ group who enrich school life.
· Stunning grounds including two trim trails, climbing frame, two playgrounds, netball court, spiritual garden, EYFS outdoor area, forest school area, vegetable patch, nature area, two fields and a football pitch, you really must visit to appreciate it.
· Forest School provision from Reception to Year 6.
· Generous PPA time, plus additional curriculum release time every third Wednesday.
· PE taught by Atlas-trained coaches, offering excellent CPD opportunities and access to high-quality resources.
· iPads, assistive technology, interactive whiteboards, intervention spaces, a newly refurbished library, and a dedicated ELSA/Pastoral/Music room.
· Tailored professional development through our Hub of schools and the GLOW Maths Hub.
If you feel you could be the teacher we are looking for, we would love to meet you.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff, and volunteers, to share the same commitment. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
