B008 Student Safeguarding Officer


Gloucestershire

You'll support students' safety, wellbeing and success by managing safeguarding concerns, providing advice and one-to-one support, and working closely with colleagues and external agencies where needed. You'll help learners overcome challenges, respond to welfare and safeguarding concerns, and ensure appropriate support is in place. You'll also deliver awareness sessions, contribute to positive college-wide initiatives, maintain accurate records, and keep your safeguarding knowledge up to date through ongoing professional development.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about student wellbeing and safeguarding, with the ability to build positive, professional relationships that help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • A confident communicator who can respond calmly and professionally to sensitive situations, maintain accurate and confidential records, and work effectively with colleagues, families and external partners.
  • Committed to continuous professional development, equality and diversity, and working collaboratively to deliver high-quality support, training and guidance that helps every student reach their potential.

You will have:

  • GSCP Safeguarding Level 3 Understanding Child Protection qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience contributing to or leading multi-agency meetings
  • Experience of:
  • Responding appropriately to disclosures of abuse
  • Undertaking risk assessments and safety planning
  • Maintaining accurate safeguarding records
