Children and Families Advisor

The Diocese of Gloucester is seeking a Children and Families Advisor to support our LIFE vision,
helping place children, young people and families at the heart of church life and ministry. Working
within the Mission and Ministry team, you will support strategic work with children and families,
particularly around key life transitions and discipleship.

You will build relationships across the Diocese, local churches and partner organisations,
champion work with children and families, strengthen existing programmes and help develop new
opportunities for ministry with under-11s and their families. The role also includes developing
training and learning opportunities for those involved in children and family ministry. It will also
involve an emphasis on engaging children and families with contemporary social concerns,
especially creation care and environmental justice.

We are looking for someone with creativity and initiative, excellent relationship-building skills, and
the ability to inspire and equip others and experience of work with and around children and families
in a Christian context. An understanding of the Church of England, theological reflection and
collaborative ministry is important.

This post carries a genuine occupational requirement to be a practising Christian under the
Equality Act 2010.
