An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide administrative support to enable the efficient and effective running of the SEN department. Ofsted assessed Balcarras in 2005, 2009, 2014 and 2025 as “Outstanding” in every category.
The successful candidate will be organised, hardworking, have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate clearly. They will also be able to develop good working relationships with young people, their families, staff and a range of other professionals.
Duties required will be directed by the SENDCo/Assistant SENDCo according to the SEND needs and will include:
Þ General administration support to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Þ Administrative tasks associated with the Education, Health and Care (EHCP) Annual Review process.
Þ Record keeping for the pupils on the SEND register.
Þ Order stationary, books and resources and maintain the supply of kitchen essentials.
Þ Filing of relevant paperwork in student folders (electronically where appropriate).
Þ Admin support for the Clerk to the Appeals Panel for Balcarras School.
Þ Main school reception cover if required.

RESPONSIBLE TO: SENDCo/Assistant SENDCo

MAIN PURPOSE:
To provide administrative support as required to enable the efficient and effective running of the SEN department.
Þ General administration support to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Þ Administrative tasks associated with the Education, Health and Care (EHCP) Annual Review process.
Þ Keeping online records up to date as directed by the SENDCo.
Þ Order stationary, books and resources and maintain the supply of kitchen essentials.
Þ Filing of relevant paperwork in student folders (electronically where appropriate).
Þ Administrative support for the Clerk to the Appeals Panel.
Þ General day to day support for the Individual learning department.
Þ Central point of contact for colleagues and parents for the individual learning department within school, answering the phone, emailing/phoning parents etc.
Þ Year 6 transition coordination – parent meetings and all admin tasks associated with Year 6/7 transition.
Þ Coordination of the reading tests for Y7 and Y8 pupils.
Þ Support TAs on a daily basis.
Þ Liaising with external professionals/agencies, for example, health professionals, educational psychologists etc as and when required.
Þ Scheduling room bookings for the Individual Learning Department.
Þ Any administrative tasks that are needed at short notice by the Individual Learning Department.
Þ Cover for main school reception.
