Contract type: Permanent.

Starting: As soon as possible.

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an organised, enthusiastic Art Department
Assistant to join our vibrant and creative Art Department. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with our teachers and Art Technician to help the department run smoothly, preparing materials for lessons, supporting with classroom setup and clear down, and keeping our spaces organised and ready for inspired learning.

You will play an important part in showcasing our students’ creativity by helping to display
their work around the school, as well as supporting the team with day-to-day administrative tasks. You will enjoy multitasking, being organised, and bringing a positive, can-do approach to your work. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with both students and staff are essential.

Experience in art is beneficial, with experience in ceramics being a real bonus, but neither are essential, as full training will be provided.

We are flexible regarding working days, though ideally the role will be worked one day per
week.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teachers with setting up and tidying away of practical lessons.
  • Preparation of materials for practical lessons.
  • Keep the ceramics area functional, including reclaiming clay, loading kiln and mixing glazes.
  • Mounting, recording and displaying student work.
  • Administration tasks as required.
