The Development and Marketing function at Pate’s Grammar School plays a pivotal role in
strengthening and supporting our vibrant community. We are committed to building lasting
relationships with alumni, families and supporters, celebrating achievements and preserving the
school’s rich heritage. By securing vital resources and championing innovation, we ensure that Pate’s
continues to thrive and create opportunities for future generations of students.
As part of this dynamic function, you will join a small, collaborative team of three: the Marketing &
Communications Manager, Development & Fundraising Consultant, and you – the successful
applicant. Together, we work closely with our parents’ association, The Friends of Pate’s, whose
dedication and generosity help raise in excess of £150,000 annually to fund school projects and
initiatives that make a real difference.
Marketing at Pate’s ensures the school’s brand is delivered through whole school marketing and
communications that enhance the reputation and visibility of Pate’s. We focus on consistent
messaging and brand alignment across all internal and external channels, ensuring that every
interaction reflects the school’s values and vision. From digital campaigns to print materials, we work
to showcase the excellence and achievements of our school community.
Our work is varied and impactful. From engaging Old Patesians (our alumni) through newsletters,
social media and events, to managing fundraising campaigns, donations and sponsorships, we are at
the heart of the school’s community outreach. We also coordinate careers talks and guest speaker
programmes, collaborate on marketing initiatives, and share inspiring stories that highlight the spirit
and success of Pate’s. Additionally, we take pride in preserving the school’s archives and heritage,
ensuring that our traditions remain a cornerstone of our identity.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised, creative and passionate Development and
Marketing Administrator to join our team here at Pate’s.
You will play a key role in supporting the school’s development and marketing function. This is a
varied and rewarding position where your work will actively contribute to fundraising success, alumni
engagement, and impactful marketing initiatives that enhance the reputation and visibility of Pate’s
Grammar School.
You will provide proactive administrative and communications support across a wide range of
activities. From maintaining alumni platforms and sharing inspiring stories via newsletters and social
media, to assisting with donation reconciliation and gift aid processing, you’ll help strengthen
relationships with our alumni and supporters. You’ll also support the organisation of fundraising
events, coordinate alumni participation in careers talks and guest speaker programmes, and work
closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager to ensure brand consistency across all
channels.
We’re looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to
detail, and a methodical approach to work. You’ll be organised, able to manage your time effectively,
and confident using your initiative. Creativity, proactivity and a friendly, approachable manner are
essential, along with discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
If you’re ready to join a collaborative team and make a real impact, we look forward to receiving your
application.
