Chipping Campden School
Clerk to the School Charity Trustees

The School Charity is the modern expression of the school’s unique and long history of
benefactors, starting in 1440. Our Charity established by Trust Deed some 35 years ago,
provides support to our students for outstanding learning opportunities, particularly where funding is not available from other sources.

The Charity Trustees allocate available funds to support the school and our students;
maintains and preserves the financial health of the Charity; and meets the requirements of the Charity Commission.

This role requires a minimal and irregular time commitment and is unlikely to exceed 50
hours over the course of a year. There are typically two to three meetings annually, with the majority of work undertaken in preparation for and following these meetings, as well as at year end. Given the extended periods between meetings, it is not practical to express the commitment in terms of weekly hours. The position provides an annual honorarium of £750.

The responsibilities of this position include:
Coordinating dates and venues for charity trustee meetings, which are normally held
three times per school year. Other support to trustees as required.
Taking and writing up minutes for these meetings.
Working alongside our treasurer, managing financial administration, including
collection of post, paying in cheques and payment of invoices.
Assembling and preparing basic financial paperwork for the year-end auditors.
Occasional liaison with our Fund Managers.
Reporting and other contacts with the charity commission.

The Clerk is often the public face of the School Charity. There will be frequent contact
with student applicants, external organisations and School management.

This will be an interesting and fulfilling role for someone with an interest in our School and helping deliver student aspirations. Formal Education experience or working with charities is not required. Some previous administration and organisation experience will be helpful, together with digital information, spreadsheets and communication skills.

Most importantly, you will be a self-starter; and enjoy working within our small team for the benefit of all our students.

Deadline for applications: 10am on Monday 8th June 2026

We are committed to equality of opportunity and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Employment subject to enhanced DBS including barred list for working with children.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff, and volunteers, to share the same commitment. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
