A093a Student Safeguarding Officer

You will act as a key point of contact for safeguarding concerns, managing student cases and working with external agencies to ensure timely, appropriate support. You’ll provide one-to-one guidance, respond to crisis situations, and work closely with Student Mentors, colleagues, parents and carers to remove barriers to learning. You’ll also deliver safeguarding training and awareness sessions, contribute to college initiatives and events, and lead on a specialist safeguarding theme to help create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all students.

About You

• Safeguarding training — GSCP Level 3 Child Protection qualification or equivalent experience

• Multi‑agency work — Experience contributing to or leading meetings such as CIN, CP, or TAF

• Safeguarding practice — Skilled in:

  • Responding appropriately when a child discloses abuse

  • Completing risk assessments and creating safety plans

  • Keeping accurate and up‑to‑date safeguarding records
