Location: Cheltenham
Shifts: Standard day shifts
Salary: 40,000- 46,000 dependant on experience
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mobile Plant Fitter to join our growing team. This is a field-based role covering Gloucestershire, carrying out maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of plant and construction equipment Our client pride themselves on being a family-run plant hire company based in Cheltenham, supplying reliable construction and groundwork equipment across Gloucestershire and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities for Mobile Plant Fitter:
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on plant machinery and equipment
- Service and maintain excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, rollers, and related equipment
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections
- Attend breakdowns and respond efficiently to call-outs
- Accurately complete job sheets and service records
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Maintain a clean and organised company vehicle and work area
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams
Requirements for Mobile Plant Fitter:
- Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Mobile Plant Technician, or similar role
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills
- Experience working on construction or heavy plant equipment
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Full UK driving licence
- Relevant engineering or plant maintenance qualifications preferred
Desirable Skills for Mobile Plant Fitter:
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Knowledge of major plant brands such as JCB, CAT, Kubota, Volvo, Hitachi, or Komatsu
- Experience using diagnostic software
- CSCS or related site certification
