Job Description Product Development Engineer Wotton under Edge Up to £35,000 Depending on Experience Renishaw’s Machine Tool Products leads the market in delivering innovative, high accuracy measurement solutions to CNC machining processes around the world. Our patented touch trigger probe technology was first employed to measure intricate components for Concorde engines; today (and many iterations later) our products are the benchmark in high precision engineering for manufacturing hundreds of everyday items like mobile phones and laptops through to car and aircraft parts. There’s a good chance our probes were involved in the production of the device you are reading this text on. We’re looking for a Product Development Engineer to join our team and contribute to the continued design and development of our market leading measurement solutions within the Machine Tool sector. In the role, you’ll be involved in testing the performance and reliability of our products, whilst proving out and developing new design solutions for potential applications. About the role Running targeted functional, environmental and application testing to understand key performance attributes and reliability of our products Defining test plans, implementation & data capture and collating of results into test reports that can be effectively communicated to all areas of the business up to and including senior management Analysing datasets using industry standard tools such as Minitab, MATLAB, Python, Excel etc. Proving out and developing new design solutions for continuous improvement within various applications About you Either educated to HNC/HND/Degree level in an engineering discipline, a served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a CNC machining/engineering environment Proven experience in setting up and running of CNC machines (predominantly milling) Ability to be methodical, organised and procedural in your approach to problem solving Demonstrable ability in organising, filtering, manipulating and analysing large data sets Ability to be creative in producing new test practices which improve the product development process Person specification As a Product Development Engineer at Renishaw, you’ll be motivated to contributed to multiple projects at any on time. You’ll manage your time effectively to prioritise different tasks in the ongoing product development process as part of a wider engineering team/division. You’ll be an effective communicator who is able to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, being able to use your foundations in engineering principles to play your part in continuously improving the Machine Tool product line.
