Materials Manager required by leading manufacturing company, based in Gloucester. The successful Materials Manager will oversee materials management, internal recycling processes, procurement activities, and site logistics operations.
Main Duties: Materials Manager
* Managing the collection, segregation, storage, and reprocessing of production waste materials.
* Planning and coordinating recycling operations, including shredding and pelletising waste materials for reuse in production.
* Overseeing materials handling, warehouse activities, product packing, and vehicle loading to support customer delivery requirements.
* Ensuring that all incoming goods and purchase order receipts are checked for quantity and specification compliance before stock allocation.
* Raising and expediting purchase orders for production materials and consumables.
* Monitoring supplier performance and negotiating prices to keep costs down
* Working closely with production, planning, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth material flow and on-time delivery performance.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Materials Manager
* A background within a similar material planning or supply chain role ideally gained within a manufacturing or engineering or equivalent environment
* Strong inventory management and stock control experience
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and influence others
* Strong IT skills with experience using stock control or ERP systems.
* Outstanding organisation and negotiation skills
