Our procurement department identifies and manages the procurement of all parts and services involved to the manufacturing process of our products. You will join a fast paced team based at either our Woodchester or Miskin site and will be closely involved in the sourcing strategy for a wide range of products, commodities, and suppliers from around the world. The main duties of the role will be to procure a portfolio of mechanical components and commodities to our manufacturing operations on time, to the highest quality and best value, whilst also considering risk, compliance, and sustainability. Responsibilities Management and control of supply chains to ensure that appropriate service levels are maintained, and that production requirements and time scales are met. Supplier price negotiation and management to ensure cost management targets are realised. Control of stock and planning parameters within an ERP environment, ensuring minimum stock levels are managed consistent with risk analysis. Proactive and ongoing identification and management of Risk. Develop Sourcing strategies for your assigned commodities. Lead commercial negotiations and contract management with key suppliers. Monitoring of supplier performance; define and implement supplier improvement plans where necessary. Liaise both internally and externally to support resolution of quality and supply related issues and problems. Key requirements Knowledge and experience of procurement within a manufacturing environment. The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally will be required for this role. Commercial acumen with the ability to analyse information and make informed decisions. Degree, CIPS qualifications, completed Modern Apprenticeship or demonstrable time served. Skilled in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel. Full driving licence. Desirable requirements Knowledge of MRP/ERP and Stock Control processes will be a distinct advantage, although training will be provided to the right candidate. An understanding of supplier manufacturing processes would be an advantage. Person specification You will be a strategic thinker, with the ability to positively influence business processes and supply chain management. You will also have good negotiation skills, with a creative approach to problem solving, driving change and improving business performance. You will value relationships and will respond well to change and will be comfortable communicating to people at all levels.
