Role Overview - Wire Person

Our client is an innovative company specialising in cutting-edge systems designed to meet demanding engineering challenges in harsh environments, including high pressures, extreme temperatures, intense vibrations, abrasion, and corrosive conditions. As they grow their geothermal operations, they're strengthening their engineering and R&D team to deliver prototype and production builds for their proven product line, originally developed for oil & gas applications.

The successful candidate will play a key role in assembling, wiring, soldering, and testing electro-mechanical components for downhole tools. This practical, hands-on position focuses on precise assembly, prototype wiring, and rigorous quality checks to ensure components perform reliably in extreme downhole conditions. You'll work closely with the expert engineering and R&D team, delivering high-quality builds with meticulous attention to detail and documentation.

This role is a temp to perm role, with the expectation of the role becoming perm following a 3 month temp period.

Key Responsibilities - Wire Person

* Assemble electro-mechanical components to exact specifications.
* Complete prototype wiring tasks, including splicing wires and making inline connections.
* Perform high-quality soldering, potting, and component securing operations.
* Read and follow circuit diagrams and schematics to ensure accurate builds.
* Conduct testing on finished assemblies to verify downhole readiness.
* Contribute to both prototype development and production assembly within the R&D team.
* Keep detailed records and documentation of all assembly activities.
* Manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritising to meet project deadlines.
* Work collaboratively across teams to troubleshoot and integrate components seamlessly.
* Undertake additional tasks as needed to support team success.

Key Experience & Qualifications - Wire Person

* Strong soldering expertise with at least 2 years' PCB-level experience.
* Solid understanding of electronics at the PCB level.
* Comfortable interpreting circuit diagrams and technical schematics.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
* Excellent verbal and written communication with strong record-keeping skills.
* Highly organised, capable of juggling multiple priorities effectively.
* Dedicated, reliable team player with a positive work ethic.
* Clear understanding of quality standards and their critical importance.
* Experience with PCB/electrical testing and fault-finding
