Position Type: Permanent

Shift Rotating 2 Shift Pattern (6-2, 2-10)

37.5 hours per week

Salary: £45,000 - £52,000

A well-established UK manufacturer of plastic and composite components is seeking a dedicated Shift Process Enginer to join their production team. The company supplies critical components to industries including automotive, aerospace, medical, and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in optimising injection moulding processes, supporting continuous improvement and ensuring quality, cost and delivery performance are met.

Key Responsibilities - Injection Moulding Shift Process Engineer

Take direction from VSM Flow Manager

Ensure H&S standards during planning and implementation stages

Active participation in audits to maintain stability within the standard processes.

Coach and develop Operator A (Injection) in the technical aspects of their role

Maintain MPS standards and adherence

Ensure scrap targets within the VSM flow are achieved or bettered

Problem solving against deviations in daily management system (SDCA)

Work with multiple projects leading continuous improvement teams (Quality, Cost, Delivery)

Lead or participate in problem solving activities to solve customer concerns or rectify internal non [1] conformances

Design and implementation of standard processes with Value Added activities and ergonomic improvements.

Create, improve & manage a robust TPM activity within the injection machines, tools and robots.

Calculate manpower and capacity requirements according to internal needs.

Liaise with Suppliers to ensure that activities are commencing on-time and in-line with requirements

Support new projects department on the creation of the injection parameters process.

Participate in the FMEA process for current and new projects.

Assess products and processes by doing feasibility studies.

Any other duties as reasonably required by the company

Qualifications / Experience - Injection Moulding Shift Process Engineer

Full understanding & technical knowledge of injection machines (ENGEL, KRAUSS MAFFEI, DEMAG, SANDRETTO), injection process parameters, robot programming, injection problem solving, injection and paint defects.

Robot Programming - Sepro - MPA, S900, Visual 2 - Engel Viper

MRP/MPS systems (preferably Baan)

Competent in Excel / Word / Power-point programmes

Lean manufacturing concepts - standard work, 5s+P, SMED, TPM,

TQM within injection process

Experienced in managing and improving production performance of Injection process.

Experienced in motivating and developing a manufacturing group to perform in a fast-paced environment

TPQ, TMP, DOE systems

PTL level 4 minimum requirement
