Decibel Fire & Security is looking for an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer to join our growing team.

This role is aimed at an established engineer who can confidently service, maintain, fault-find and repair a range of fire and security systems while delivering a professional and reliable service to our customers.

The role

You will be responsible for:

  • Servicing and maintaining fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV and access control systems
  • Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently
  • Carrying out system takeovers and identifying remedial works
  • Completing accurate service records and updating system asset information
  • Clearly explaining faults, recommendations and completed works to customers
  • Identifying additional works where systems require improvement or upgrading
  • Working in accordance with BAFE, SSAIB, British Standards and company procedures
  • Participating in the company’s on-call rota
  • Our customer base includes schools, commercial premises, offices and other organisations throughout Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.

What we are looking for

Applicants should have:

  • Proven experience as a Fire & Security Service Engineer
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm and electronic security systems
  • The ability to work independently and manage service visits effectively
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • A professional and conscientious approach to paperwork and compliance
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Experience with systems such as Advanced, Kentec, Apollo, Texecom, Paxton, Dahua or similar would be advantageous.

Relevant industry qualifications, including FIA training, electrical qualifications or manufacturer-specific training, would also be beneficial.

As much of our work is carried out within schools and other sensitive environments, the successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.
