Principal Aquatic Ecologist

SLR is seeking an experienced Principal Aquatic Ecologist to join our team across the UK. The role involves leading aquatic ecology projects, developing client relationships, and growing our aquatic ecology capabilities. The successful candidate will have expertise in freshwater, estuarine, and marine ecology, with experience in Ecological Impact Assessments, Habitat Regulations, and Water Framework Directive Assessments, particularly in sectors like wind energy and infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include managing projects, conducting field surveys, preparing reports, mentoring staff, and business development. The role requires travel across the UK and occasional out-of-hours work. Candidates should have a relevant postgraduate degree, membership of CIEEM or equivalent, and a full UK driving license.
