Estimator

We are recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a growing team, supporting the delivery of planned and responsive maintenance contracts within the social housing sector. This is a key role responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and commercially viable cost estimates that contribute to successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for planned maintenance works (e.g. kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, voids, cyclical decorations) and responsive repairs
• Interpret specifications, drawings, and schedules of rates to build accurate pricing models
• Conduct site visits and surveys where required to assess scope and risk
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather technical and commercial information
• Analyze tender documents and identify value engineering opportunities
• Build and maintain strong supply chain relationships to ensure competitive pricing
• Support bid submissions and contribute to tender strategies
• Monitor cost assumptions and maintain estimating databases

Skills and experience for the role

• Proven experience as an Estimator within social housing, maintenance, or refurbishment sectors
• Strong knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance frameworks
• Experience working with Schedule of Rates (SOR), such as NHF or similar
• Commercial awareness with strong analytical and numerical skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Full UK driving licence (if site visits required)
