The Role
To support our ambitious growth plans, we are seeking Senior Financial Accountant in our Cheltenham head office for an experienced technically strong Financial Accountant to produce accurate management accounts and financial statements with focus on the technical aspects of financial reporting. You will provide timely and accurate financial and management information to a wide-ranging audience across the business and provide insight into current and future performance of the business.
We are seeking a delivery focused, utterly reliable and solution orientated Senior Financial Accountant with the experience necessary to be effective immediately working within our global finance team. Coming from a background with a good pedigree of financial reporting, you will have a strong accounting knowledge, significant experience of supporting stakeholders at all levels and a proven ability to inquisitively question others to deliver results.
You Will
Support the Head of Financial Reporting & Tax in the preparation of the Group Statutory Accounts at year end and interim.
Support liaising with the external and internal auditors to ensure a clean audit and thus minimising risk.
Support the local country statutory analysis and accounts preparation where necessary.
Investigate and report anomalies arising from accounts preparation
Support and lead projects that champion best practice in the management of the Financial Reporting team.
Improve and drive process improvements, to support the timely and accurate analysis of the financial accounts which enhance controls across financial and management accounts.
Support the financial accounts process with accurate reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts.
Ensure the business complies with the IFRS accounting standards and legislative frameworks.
Act as a subject matter expert for technical accounting queries, with key focus on IFRS16
Manage the consolidation companies for the Group Reporting at year end and interim.
Ensure the regulatory returns are made accurately and on a timely basis.
Manage the compliance activities for the financing facility including managing monthly reporting and periodic audits. (inc. budgeting for expected financing costs).
Be the main point of contact for the lenders’ Agent for the financing facility.
Support and be involved in transformation projects, to support improvements and efficiency across finance.
Closing out of National Statistics across the various local regions within the Group
Support the Head of Financial Reporting & Tax in the development of the Financial Reporting Team, knowledge and capability across Finance.
A strong number 2 in the Financial Reporting team
Management of 1 team member.
Be able to prepare memo’s, policies and procedures documents.
Work with the senior management team and peers providing support as necessary.
Manage ad hoc requirements, liaising with other departments within Superdry as needed by your line manager.
You Are
A qualified accountant ideally (ACA/ACCA)
Good technical knowledge of IFRS. In particular IFRS16.
Substantially experienced in financial accounting with strong technical accounting background.
Experienced in the production of consolidated intercompany period close accounts.
Experience of development and improvement of financial controls and systems.
Proven track record of managing and delivering against competing deadlines.
Ideally experienced in a retail or FMCG business.
Preferably experienced in working with international accounts.
Significantly experienced in audit processes, either internally or externally.
Able to deliver consistently against deadlines to a high standard, with a real focus on delivery.
A strong communicator with the ability to interact across all levels of the business.
Able to explain complex financial information to non-finance people in a clear and engaging way.
Able to foster strong working relationships with the team and with cross functional team members.
A highly organised, diligent person with exceptional attention to detail.
An effective communicator, with the ability to change your approach depending on audience.
A team player able to work effectively and collaboratively across the business.
An ability to work under pressure to set deadlines.
