Must have’s
- AAT qualification or equivalent experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience using accountancy software (Sage 50 ideal)
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
- Confident managing month-end processes and accounting routines
- Strong understanding of double-entry, reconciliations and journals
- Able to produce accurate financial reports independently
Nice to have’s
- Experience with Pegasus Opera 3 payroll
- Previous experience managing audits or working alongside external auditors
So what will you be doing?
- You’ll be managing the full accounting function using Sage 50 Accounts Professional
- Overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
- Handling day-to-day transactions and resolving complex queries
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Preparing and processing month-end journals (accruals, prepayments, fixed asset depreciation, reclasses, payroll/investment entries)
- Producing monthly balance sheet and P&L accounts for audit and month-end reporting
- Submitting quarterly VAT returns with full reconciliations
- Reviewing aged creditors, investigating discrepancies and actioning write-offs/adjustments
- Managing weekly BACS payments and approvals
- Preparing weekly cashflow forecasts
- Leading the annual audit process (October year end & audit)
- Preparing schedules and reports for year-end accounts
- Liaising with external auditors
- Supporting the transition from Pegasus Opera 3 to a potential Sage payroll solution

- Commuting between both offices, Faringdon and Westbury-on-Severn, with the plan to be based in WoS permanently thereafter,
