Finance & Administration Assistant

Are you an organised, proactive individual with experience in finance and administration?
Gloucestershire Local Medical Committee (LMC) is seeking a reliable and self-motivated Finance & Administration Assistant to support our small, friendly team. This is a part-time role of approximately 6 hours per week, with flexibility over how the hours are worked. However, applicants must be available to work on Wednesday mornings for at least part of their weekly hours.
About Gloucestershire LMC
Gloucestershire LMC is the independent statutory body representing and supporting all NHS General Practices across Gloucestershire. We work closely with local GP practices, the Integrated Care Board (ICB), NHS organisations, and national bodies including the General Practitioners Committee England (GPCE) and the British Medical Association (BMA) to ensure the voice of General Practice is heard and represented. We are a small, supportive team based in Gloucester with dedicated office accommodation and on-site parking.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will provide finance and administrative support across the organisation, including:
• Processing monthly payroll using Sage
• Managing HMRC submissions and pension contribution payments
• Maintaining financial records and simple accounts using Sage and Excel
• Processing supplier invoices and payments
• Completing bank reconciliations
• Supporting meeting administration and record keeping
• Maintaining accurate organisational records
• Coordinating diary invitations and meeting arrangements
• Providing general office administration support
About You
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience of finance and administrative work in a small office environment
• Is confident using Sage and Microsoft Excel
• Has strong organisational and record-keeping skills
• Can work accurately with attention to detail
• Is able to manage workloads independently and use initiative
• Has excellent communication skills
• Is trustworthy and able to handle confidential information appropriately
Previous experience of payroll administration is highly desirable.
