Job Description Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience Location Wotton-under-Edge, Glouc. Based in our Group Head Office at New Mills in Gloucestershire, the Finance Analyst will report to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and will work closely with finance business partners supporting UK-based product divisions and regional finance leads supporting the overseas subsidiary sales network. This is a tremendous opportunity for an ambitious professional who loves organising and analysing large data sets, can communicate insightful analysis, deliver efficient reporting solutions and is comfortable working with non-finance teams on improving Group data quality and reporting. The role is also forward-looking, helping the business plan and make well-informed decisions. Responsibilities Develop key financial analyses and reporting tools to identify trends and opportunities, covering topics such as Group Margin trends (breaking down gross profit margin movements into volume, product mix, pricing, discounting, exchange rate movements and standard cost of sale changes), Sales Performance, Cost Performance, Stock and Logistics Performance, R&D and Capex Investment spend and returns. Produce ad-hoc analysis as requested by both finance and non-finance stakeholders and run common routine processes. Become an SME on finance data architecture, working with the Finance Systems, IT and commercial teams to improve data quality and structure which will enable improved analysis. Work with Group Financial Reporting and Internal Controls teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Ensure that detailed budgets are set and reported against that align to the coming year’s financial targets. Investigate the use of AI to improve forecasts and identify trends and actions. Experience Required 1-3 years in FP&A or a related role involving financial modelling and analysis. Track record of engaging across multi-disciplinary functions and targeting the audience when reporting financial information. Experience Preferred Recently qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Data visualisation and knowledge of SQL. Familiarity with financial software. Skills & Competencies MS Office capabilities, particularly Excel, Power BI and/or other analysis and reporting tools. Analytical skill. Attention to detail. Communication. Tenacious problem solver. Career development and opportunities The Finance Analyst role offers career progression within finance (or elsewhere if desired), potentially leading to positions like Finance Business Partner or Finance Systems Analyst (both within the FP&A team), or various Management Accountant roles across the wider Group Finance team.
