Cheltenham Ladies’ College has a competitive pay scale with membership of the TPS, or membership of a Defined Contribution (DC) Pension Scheme. The DC option includes an additional non-pensionable cash allowance.
Starting salary depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
A well-qualified, and inspiring graduate is required to teach French to cover a period of parental leave.
The Modern Foreign Languages Department is one of the largest departments at College and the successful applicant will join a team of 17 specialist teachers, 9 language coaches and 3 language assistants.
The five core languages taught at College are Mandarin Chinese, French, Italian, German and Spanish. We also offer Arabic, Japanese and Russian in the Sixth Form. In addition, wherever we can, we support students’ individual needs and home languages.
The department is outstandingly successful and consistently achieves excellent examination results. Teaching staff are encouraged to share good practice through peer observation. The department is well-resourced and full support with induction and continuing professional development is provided.
All teachers are expected to contribute to the rich co-curricular life of the College, but there are no residential duties.
