Deputy Headteacher job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, inspirational and values-driven leader to work alongside our Headteacher, staff and governors in leading a warm, ambitious and thriving Catholic school community. We are looking for a candidate with the vision, drive and proven leadership experience to help us build on our strong reputation and continue delivering the very best outcomes for our pupils.

The successful candidate will also take on the role of SENCO, so we are seeking a leader with a strong commitment to inclusion and a passion for ensuring that every child receives the support, challenge and opportunities they need to flourish.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is a committed Catholic with a clear understanding of the distinctive nature and mission of Catholic education, and who will play a full and active role in the life of the school;
  • is an outstanding classroom practitioner with a strong track record of leading high-quality teaching and learning;
  • has successful leadership experience and the ability to motivate, inspire and empower staff, pupils and families;
  • has experience of curriculum innovation and development, with clear evidence of impact on raising standards and improving outcomes;
  • has the knowledge, commitment and strategic oversight to lead SEND provision effectively as SENCO, ensuring high-quality inclusive practice across the school;
  • is a highly effective communicator with the confidence, warmth and emotional intelligence to lead others successfully;
  • is passionate about ensuring every child flourishes academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
