We are looking for a strong, creative leader with a commitment towards high-standards of childcare and education. This role requires a minimum level 3 qualification in childcare with leadership experience in an early years setting.

Salary: Starting from £13.75 p /hr. Negotiable based on experience.

Key Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the Nursery manager with the day-today running of the nursery ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Step into the lead role during the Nursery Managers absence ensuring continuity of care and compliance
  • Lead and inspire our team of practitioners
  • Assist in developing and maintaining effective policies and procedures
  • Support the delivery of an appropriate play-based EYFS curriculum
  • Capacity to coordinate in a specialist area i.e. Safeguarding officer / SENCO
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external parties (e.g. local council)

Work closely with the Nursery Manager and Directors to oversee and manage the following areas:

  • Health and safety
  • Recruitment / staff development
  • Finance and admin

Expectations:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent
  • A minimum of two years recent experience, working in a Preschool/Nursery setting, ideally already in a senior practitioner / leadership role.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS and the current OFSTED statutory guidance
  • Proven track record in the implementation of high quality learning opportunities
  • Commitment to high standards of quality in all areas, which should be evident through written reports and accurate records (including financial records and account information)

  • EYFS
  • Legislation (in relation to the curriculum)

  • Nursery Policies and Procedures
  • Any reasonable duties, in accordance with the nursery aims and objectives
