Eastington Primary School is a small, rural school on the fringes of a close-knit community village that combines both old and new homes.
Originally built in the mid-19th century, the school has been sympathetically added to and now provides a building steeped in history, alongside a practical teaching and learning environment.
Our motto is ‘aiming high together’, which encompasses our beliefs that everyone in the school, staff, children and governors, have equal roles in every young person’s achievement.
We are looking for a new Headteacher that wants to maintain our happy and harmonious learning environment, as acknowledged by Ofsted in their last visit (December 2022). This environment has afforded above national average achievement on KS2 SATs last year. We are seeking a new Headteacher, as after 11 years in the role, our current Head is looking forward to pursuing different pathways in her life.
We are looking for someone who will enjoy leading a small school and who thrives on continuous interaction with all stakeholders in and around the school: children, staff, parents, carers, governors, the Parent Association and the community. Practically, our new headteacher will know what a broad and balanced curriculum is, what high-quality teaching looks like and be able to teach in class when necessary. Furthermore, they should have experience with the financial workings in a small school as well as premises management, so that it continues to function well and be solvent.
