We are looking for Community Nurses (experienced and newly qualified) who are seeking a new challenge and career development within a friendly nursing team. We seek nurses with passion and commitment who hold patient experience and care at the heart of their nursing practice and share our organisational values. In return we offer you support along with excellent training and a real commitment to your personal development plan with opportunities for continued professional development and study.

We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses .

You need to be able to work over a shift system which includes early (8-4pm) and late (12-8pm) shifts across 7 days including weekends (1 in 4) and bank holidays.

This role is offered on a permanent basis. The hours available are both full-time and part-time.

This job includes working across the Tewkesbury, Newent and Staunton area, as well as the Forest of Dean locality on occasion as part of the FOD ICT.

Main duties of the job

As a Registered Nurse you will work as part of an Integrated Community Team alongside our MDT colleagues undertaking care of people in their homes across the diverse range of interventions and case management opportunities that community nursing offers, including complex care situations, chronic disease, admission avoidance and end of life care.

To excel in this role you will require excellent communication skills, the courage to make clinical decisions and a willingness to develop your potential. You will require current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse. Post-registration experience is helpful but not essential and we have an excellent preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses with Practice Facilitator support including the opportunity of completing the level 7 (Masters) 15 credit validated module "Preceptorship for Healthcare" (AP7026).

Future progression opportunities include District Nurse Qualification at Specialist Practice level (allowing you to lead a team of Community Nurses) and Assessment and Prescribing modules.

We are a modern trust, which means whilst on the go you'll be equipped for mobile working (laptop and smart phone device).

If you would like to work for an Organisation that values its staff, aims to deliver the best care, offering compassion to all patients, their carers and families, and you can demonstrate this to us, we would love to hear from you!

About us

We have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues working in a diverse range of services over 55 sites and within people's homes. We strive to enable a welcoming workplace culture that builds and celebrates civility, inclusivity and diversity, while providing a sense of belonging and trust.

Annual staff surveys, regular Pulse surveys and other engagement opportunities provide our people with lots of opportunity to tell us about their experiences of working with us. In the latest staff survey, 61% of colleagues gave us their views. It was great to hear that:

72% of colleagues would recommend the Trust as a place to work, ranking us 1st for Provider Trusts in the South West region on this question.

76% would recommend the standard of care provided in our services if a friend or relative needed treatment, also ranking us 1st in the South West region.

81% said that care of patients and service users is the Trust's priority, compared with an average in comparable NHS Trusts in England of 64%.

This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
