GLOUCESTERSHIRE HOSPITALS NHS TRUST Clinical Fellow in Urogynaecology

Gloucester Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has a nationally recognised uro-gynaecology specialist team who deliver specialist urogynaecological services, including laparoscopic prolapse surgery, advanced vaginal surgery, urodynamics and anti-incontinence management. The team consists of urogynaecologists Mr Philip Rahmanou, Sharan Athwal and Georgia Smith. Advanced Practitioners include Anna Umali and Kate Mitchell, supported by Marymie Capistramo. Having been accredited as a subspecialty training department, they have several research projects currently proposed and would form part of the Clinical Fellow's role.

The successful candidate will be a key member of this urogynaecology multi-professional team. They will spend their routine days supporting theatres and clinics as well as having protected time for development. They would be expected to join the full time on-call rota as a middle grade.

This role would be suitable for either a candidate who wishes for more exposure in Urogynaecology or a candidate who is nearing the end or has finished their training and would like to hone their skills or finish their SITM.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Fellow will work on average less than 48 hours a week, providing on-call support. They will be expected to report firstly to the urogynaecology team and attend clinics and theatre if not on call. If the department requires any additional service cover, then they will be available.

Clinical Commitments: On Call commitments will be in both obstetrics and gynaecology and on a 1:10 basis at registrar level.

Administrative: The post holder will be responsible for administrative duties relating to their clinical work.

The post holder will be required to work in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital or other sites within Gloucestershire if service needs arise.

For booking annual and study leave the post holder must make reference to the departmental procedure and 8 weeks' notice should be given.
