Job summary
We are seeking an experienced secretary to join the secretarial and administrative team at the Vascular Laboratory. The position offers excellent opportunities for a motivated and diligent individual to provide efficient and timely administrative and secretarial support to the department, assisting with all aspects of patient access to meet the service's needs.
Main duties of the job
To provide administrative and secretarial support to ensure the smooth operation of Vascular Laboratories, including patient access, appointment bookings, and serving as the reception point of contact.
To efficiently coordinate all administrative tasks supporting the Specialist Vascular Secretary Lead, while maintaining the ability to work independently within the boundaries of the job description.
The post holder will be expected to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders daily, including patients and their relatives, medical staff, GPs, members of the public, and company representatives. They must exercise initiative and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to ensure that all contact remains sensitive, empathetic, and courteous.
About us
The Vascular Laboratory team works closely with Vascular Consultants, Consultant Radiologists, Vascular Access Nurse Specialists, and Vascular Nurse Specialists as part of a multidisciplinary team in the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. The Vascular Laboratories are spacious, air-conditioned, and well-equipped with five Philips EPIQ 7, one Philips EPIQ 5, and Philips InnoSite ultrasound machines. We utilise an electronic reporting system alongside CRIS/PACS. We also have a dedicated office space separate from the scanning rooms.
