Senior Sister/Charge Nurse- Tivoli Ward, Band 7

Job summary

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who would like to make a difference to both patient care and staff career progression.

This is an exciting opportunity to enhance leadership skills in managing a fast paced surgical ward in Cheltenham General Hospital. The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse will role model high standards of nursing care and demonstrate transformational leadership. Visible leadership is essential on the ward for clinical supervision management and supporting patient flow of admissions and discharges to the ward.

Main duties of the job

Provide high quality patient care delivery maintaining standards in accordance with UK law, the NMC, and Trust guidelines, and able to meet the revalidation requirements.

To manage effectively the funded establishment of the Department through recruitment, retention and development of staff

Delivery and management of key performance indicators:

- Financial Management

- Rostering Management

- Timely Datix Management

- EPR compliance

- Complaints

- Vacancy Factors

- Sickness - long and short term

- Appraisal Rates

- Mandatory Training

- Patient Group Directions (PGD) Compliance

- Clinical Supervision Management

- Resus Trolley Checks

- Cleaning targets

- Infection Control
