We offer funded places on a variety of continuing professional development courses from oncology to paediatric critical care. Newly Registered Nurses are supported through the trust preceptorship programme which is accredited to master level.

Main duties of the job

As a staff nurse on paediatrics you will be expected to deliver compassionate, safe, high quality, care for children of all ages within our large unit. Our service covers specialist inpatient services such as paediatric oncology, paediatric critical care level 2, paediatric surgery and a paediatric assessment unit as well as an extensive children's outpatient service.

You should be enthusiastic, motivated with good interpersonal skills and able to problem solve and prioritise during periods of pressure.

In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, you will be required to deliver and supervise patient care for the clinical area; ensuring assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of a high standard of care.

Working in conjunction with the team to deliver safe patient and family centred care within a challenging and changing clinical environment

The Centre offers a unique environment for nursing professionals to develop their paediatric experience across a range of areas: Inpatients, Paediatric Assessment Unit, High Dependency unit, Day unit, oncology shared care services and outpatients. We also provide a increasing Paediatric specialist nursing team within our community to ensure children can remain at home with additional support from our teams.
