Registered Nurse - Neonatal Unit, Band 5

Registered Nurse - Neonatal Unit, Band 5

Gloucester

Job summary

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our friendly, supportive and progressive Neonatal Team within our purpose-built 28-cot Neonatal Unit.

Our unit provides specialist care to babies from across the county and includes 12 ITU/HDU cots and 16 Special Care cots. A recent development is the introduction of a 4-cot Transitional Care Unit, providing neonatal nursing support on the maternity ward and promoting family-centred care.

The role includes delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to neonates requiring intensive, high dependency and special care, working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, supporting families, and contributing to service development and quality improvement.

We welcome applications from experienced neonatal nurses with a recognised qualification and newly qualified nurses with an interest in neonatal care.

All new starters receive a 7-week supernumerary induction and a named mentor. Ongoing CPD is supported, including the Neonatal Network Foundation Programme, Neonatal Critical Care Course, and a Teaching and Assessing qualification. Funding and protected study time are provided.

The post involves rotational shifts including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays and offers an excellent opportunity to develop neonatal nursing skills within a supportive, forward-thinking team.
