AWP Specialised Services have embarked on an exciting journey to provide the first NHS Gambling Service for the South West of England. This new remote team provides online treatment to people who want help with their gambling as well as their families and significant others.

We have a new position available for a Qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist, to deliver online specialist psychological interventions to people seeking help for gambling. The role will involve assessment, formulation and treatment, drawing on CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Family Interventions, both in group and individual formats. You will be part of our MDT, participating in relevant meetings and processes, and working in a trauma informed way.

As Gambling services are a new development for the NHS we will provide support and training to help you in your role. There will also be opportunities to get involved in helping the service evolve and develop. We are a remote working service, but the role will involve some face to face appointments and regular in-person team meetings.

Main duties of the job

This role is semi-autonomous working in the South West Gambling Service under supervision of a local Clinical Psychologist/BABCP accredited practitioner.

Psychological assessment and formulation of specified client group depending on service need and skills/training of practitioner.

Offer defined evidence based psychological interventions to that specific client group, in particular cognitive behaviour therapy.

Working with Service Users experiencing gambling harms across South West of England.

You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team.

To act as a keyworker to a defined caseload for whom they are providing the main psychological intervention. Where the demands of care coordination extend beyond the psychological intervention, the care coordination will be reviewed.
