Job summary
You will be joining a small and supportive team of Dietitians working at the STEPS Eating Disorder Service based on the Acer Unit at Blackberry Hill Hospital. The dietetic team consists of 4 Dietitians and a Dietetic Assistant, who work alongside the wider MDT including OTs, peer support workers, psychology staff as well as the wider nursing and medical team, providing specialist dietetic assessments and interventions, supporting patients in their recovery from Eating Disorders.
This post spans both the inpatient unit and community team, which gives opportunity to develop and expand knowledge and skills across all aspects of Eating Disorders treatment. We also have close links with our acute colleagues in neighbouring NHS Hospital Trusts. We have an established supervision and management structure, so you will be well supported to learn more on all aspects of eating disorder pathways within our established dietetic team.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve carrying a caseload, assessing and providing treatment goals for eating disorder patients. This includes 1:1 work and also facilitating groups. You working as part of the multi-disciplinary team in planning needs whilst service users are admitted to our 10-bedded inpatient unit and following up on discharge into the community. You will be supported by colleagues and a dietetic assistant.
We offer placements to dietetic students and there will be an opportunity to participate in our well-established CPD programme. Regular training and development is actively encouraged to provide a forward thinking and high quality service.
