£35,000 - £40,000 + excellent benefits

Location: Wotton-under-Edge, with travel to other sites within approximately one hour

We are working with a successful and growing organisation to recruit an experienced HR Advisor to join its HR team. This is a varied generalist role offering the opportunity to work closely with managers and employees across the business, providing practical HR advice and supporting a positive and effective employee experience.

The role would suit an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is confident handling employee relations and wants to play an active role in supporting managers and wider people initiatives.

The Role

As HR Advisor, you will provide day-to-day HR support across the business, working closely with managers and HR colleagues to ensure people matters are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation and company policies.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing practical and commercially balanced HR advice to managers and employees
• Acting as a first point of contact for employee relations, policy and people management queries
• Managing a range of ER cases including absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability, probation and flexible working
• Coaching managers through formal and informal HR processes
• Supporting managers with performance management, objectives and effective people conversations
• Delivering or supporting manager briefings and HR training
• Supporting organisational change, restructuring and consultation activity
• Supporting workforce planning, talent reviews and succession planning
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding, retention, development and internal career progression
• Working with Learning & Development colleagues to identify development needs
• Monitoring and analysing HR data including absence, turnover, vacancies and ER activity
• Producing HR reports and identifying trends, risks and opportunities
• Maintaining accurate HR records and documentation
• Supporting HR projects, people initiatives and organisational change
• Contributing to policy, process and HR service improvements
• Working collaboratively with the wider HR team to deliver a consistent and effective service

About You

We are looking for an experienced HR professional with a strong generalist background and excellent employee relations knowledge.

You will ideally have:

• CIPD qualification or be working towards qualification
• Previous experience providing HR advisory support within a fast-paced organisation
• Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Experience managing employee relations cases independently
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• The ability to coach and influence managers at different levels
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• The ability to balance commercial considerations with risk and compliance
• Experience working with HR data and producing reports
• Good Microsoft Office and HR systems experience
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

Experience within a complex, multi-site or global organisation, Workday or a similar HR system, and delivering manager training would be advantageous.
