Housekeeper

Reports to: Nursery Management Team

Position Summary

To ensure that there is a constant supply of freshly laundered items available to all rooms; to include bedding, flannels, bibs and room resources. To ensure that all tasks are completed effectively and efficiently, whilst ensuring that the laundry room remains clean, tidy and organised. You will also assist all rooms with lunch cover, spending time with all ages across the Day Nursery.

Major Accountabilities

1. To launder all items as required by rooms; to include bibs, flannels, bedding and resources, ensuring that care labels are followed at all times
2. To maintain a clean, tidy and organised laundry room
3. To help cover staff lunches across all age groups in the Day Nursery
4. Report to the Office Manager and/or Management any signs or symptoms which may suggest that a child requires expert or immediate attention.
5. Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
6. As a member of the staff team, contribute to and nurture a positive and professional working environment, role modeling adherence and commitment to the aims and ethos of Berkhampstead and its codes of conduct.
7. Maintain own knowledge in order to continue a high level of professional competence. Participate in professional development and training as reasonably required.
8. Undertake other professional duties that may be reasonably required e.g. staff meeting attendance
9. Undertake other reasonable duties or requests from time to time as requested by the Nursery Management Team

Position Prerequisites

• Experience working within a Domestic Role
• Basic knowledge of how to use a washing machine
• Competent communication skills with both adults and children
