Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning? Are you patient, empathetic and motivated to make a positive difference in an alternative provision setting?

Academics is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming alternative provision in Gloucester. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may benefit from a more personalised approach to education, helping them build confidence, develop positive relationships and re-engage with learning.

You will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored academic, social and emotional support, helping pupils feel supported and encouraged to reach their potential.



Learning Support Assistant

  • 90- 105 per day
  • Full-Time (8:30am-3:30pm)


Your Role as a Learning Support Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of learning and additional needs.
  • Help pupils engage with lessons and develop their confidence and independence.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage positive relationships.
  • Support pupils' social and emotional development through a patient and understanding approach.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Adapt your approach to meet individual pupils' needs and help them overcome barriers to learning.


What We're Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and their education.
  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to adapt to different learning and behavioural needs.
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to apply for one.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.

Salary: £90 to £105 Daily +

Hours Per Week: Full Time
