Lecturer and Course Team Leader

Cirencester College

Salary: £30,043 - £40,292 FTE (£21.44ph - £30.85ph). (Salary dependent on qualifications and experience) RA A1: £800

Contract: Permanent, Hourly Paid

Required: September 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an adaptable and creative individual to join our Adult Education Team to inspire adults and shape futures through leading on our ‘Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools and Colleges’ provision.

Since launching our ‘Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools and Colleges’ at both Level 1 and Level 2 offering to adult students in November 2023, the programme has gone from strength to strength, with over 100 adult learners enrolling and many progressing into employment within schools and colleges. As demand continues to grow, this is a fantastic opportunity to build on this success, shape the future of the programme, and make a lasting impact on the lives of our learners.

Working in collaboration with the Jobcentre, you will lead the continued delivery and development of our level 1 and 2 qualifications. This is an opportunity to apply for the Course Team Leader RA, as we require someone to take responsibility for these qualifications and resources.

The candidate will ideally have experience in teaching similar courses and of either supporting learning, or working with support workers. Additionally have the ability to teach other subjects within the adult education curriculum, where appropriate, to meet the needs of the service and support a broad range of adult learners.

Candidates should have a commitment to adult education and be motivated to achieve high standards in teaching and learning.  The ability to work well within a team and to adapt to curriculum demands is essential. Ideally candidates should possess a good honours degree and a teaching qualification. However, the College is supportive of new entrants into the teaching profession and we are therefore willing to consider applications from graduates who are willing to undertake a supported teaching qualification as part of their professional development.

Closing date: 18th August, noon. We reserve the right to interview prior to the closing date.

PLEASE APPLY NOW – This position will close once sufficient applications are received. We regret that due to the large number of applications we receive we are only able to contact those candidates to be interviewed. Unfortunately, due to the high number of applicants, we are unable to provide feedback to applicants who are not shortlisted for interview.

Benefits include: Teachers Pensions defined benefit pension scheme (including life assurance), generous holidays, sick pay scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, free on-site car parking, on-site fitness suite, Refectory and Cycle to Work Scheme.

Cirencester College may carry out online searches during the recruitment process on shortlisted candidates, as part of due diligence checks.

This College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Cirencester College welcomes applications from all sectors of the community and is an equal opportunities employer.
