An exciting opportunity has arisen for an adaptable and creative individual to teach in our high performing A Level Sociology department!
After excellent results in 2026, we are looking to add to our strong team of lecturers. We are recruiting for an experienced teacher, ideally with an excellent track record in the subject of sociology (or a closely related discipline).
Here at Cirencester College, we offer two pathways for students: the crime and the world sociology pathways. The former takes students through the sociological theories that explain crime and the implications of crime on society. Our world sociology pathway steers students through the landscape of society and the reasons for its shape and structure drawing on organisational policies, laws, health, education, poverty, and employment.
We want a highly motivated and student-centred practitioner to join our team and to contribute to the continued success of the department.
The role entails:
- Teaching to a high standard and developing student’s skills and confidence to succeed.
- Working collaboratively with an experienced Sociology team.
- Playing a full role as a member of the Faculty and College community
- Providing pastoral support for students if your role includes being a personal tutor
- Candidates should have a commitment to post compulsory education at FE and be motivated to achieve high standards in teaching and learning. The ability to work well within a team and to adapt to curriculum demands is essential. Candidates will be committed to the Cirencester College mission and vision and be able to demonstrate the ability to work to deadlines in a demanding environment. The College is supportive of new entrants into teaching and provide professional development onsite.
