Role Information:

FTE Salary: Up to £34,416.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)
Contract Type: 0 hour contract, fixed term until 31st August 2026

You will plan and deliver engaging sessions to Adult learners, focused on the skills required for employment as a Barber. This role would suit someone with experience in Barbering. A teaching qualification is desirable, though support will be provided for the right candidate to achieve one.

Topics include:

  • Drying and finishing Men’s hair
  • Cutting men’s hair
  • Facial cutting techniques
  • Outlines and detailing in Men’s hair

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching on the barbering course.
  • Monitor learner progress, support achievement, and encourage progression into further training or employment.
  • Keep up to date with developments in the barbering industry.
  • Ensure adherence to SGS’s Quality Management systems, safeguarding responsibilities, and health and safety practices

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Industry experience in Barbering.
  • A teaching or assessor qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Excellent communication skills and a learner-focused attitude.
  • Passionate about the future of the construction industry.
