About The Role

Forest of Dean District Council is looking for a motivated and community-focused Leisure and Active Well-being Officer to join our Community Well-being Team. In this role, you’ll help improve residents’ quality of life by ensuring the delivery of high-quality leisure facilities and activities through effective contract monitoring. Working closely with our leisure provider, you’ll support performance monitoring, data collection, and contract compliance, while attending regular site visits and stakeholder meetings.

A key part of this role is building strong relationships with providers, colleagues, and community partners to support the implementation of our Active Well-being Strategy. You’ll contribute to community-based physical activity programmes, help organise and attend regular review meetings and support initiatives that align with the Council’s health and well-being priorities. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact on local health and leisure services in a collaborative and rewarding environment.

You will need

  • A level, NVQ3,or BTEC
  • Relevant professional qualification or relevant industry experience
  • Experience in the leisure industry, a similar field or transferable skills
  • Experience in contract monitoring
  • Experience in project delivery and performance management
  • Confidence and experience in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.

Special Conditions

  • Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes
  • BPSS check
