The school is seeking to appoint a Library Assistant to work 15 hours per week, term time only, supporting the Librarian in our busy and vibrant school library.

We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for literature and learning, who is enthusiastic about inspiring this same passion in young people. The successful candidate will have a friendly and approachable manner, excellent communication and IT skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a small team. A positive, can-do attitude and a forward-thinking approach to new challenges are also essential.

The working hours are flexible and can be arranged to suit the successful applicant, although we would require the Library to be covered on Friday mornings. Possible working patterns could include two full days per week or four mornings, but we are happy to consider alternative arrangements. The exact working pattern can be discussed in more detail at the interview stage.

The salary for the Library Assistant post is NJC Points 7–11 (£27,274–£29,071) pro rata.

Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School is a very successful comprehensive with excellent results at GCSE and at A Level.
