We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and passionate School Librarian to lead the continued development of our library as a vibrant, welcoming and inclusive learning environment at the heart of our school community.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about reading, literacy and supporting young people to develop a lifelong love of learning. Working closely with teaching staff and support colleagues, you will play a key role in promoting reading for pleasure, developing pupils' information and research skills, and ensuring that the library supports teaching and learning across the curriculum.
The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operation of the library, oversee both physical and digital learning resources, organise engaging literacy events and work collaboratively with curriculum leaders to ensure the library remains an inspiring and valued resource for all members of the school community.

The successful applicant will:
· Be passionate about promoting reading, literacy and independent learning.
· Have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
· Be able to develop and maintain an engaging, inclusive and well-managed library environment.
· Be confident using library management systems and digital technologies.
· Be proactive in developing the library through creative initiatives, author events, extracurricular programmes and curriculum support.
· Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external organisations.
· Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
· Demonstrate initiative, flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
· Share our ambition to foster curiosity, creativity and a genuine love of reading throughout the school community.
This role would suit an experienced school librarian, a librarian from another sector looking to move into education, or someone with relevant experience in libraries, literacy or education who is eager to make a meaningful difference to young people's learning and personal development.
