About the Team & Role:
You would be joining the Public Health and Communities Hub. We are a team who are committed to making a difference to the health and wellbeing of residents, and places and communities, to enable people to live healthy lives and reduce inequalities.
As a Public Health Officer, you will work flexibly under the direction of senior colleagues to develop and support a range of projects and programmes aimed at improving health outcomes. Working collaboratively with internal and external partners and engaging with communities.
You will be a valued member of a supportive team with a commitment to professional development.
About You:
Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a commissioning environment, as a commissioner or provider, and experience of working on the determinants of health, for example, housing, environmental health, health and social care and/or public health.
They will have practical experience of project planning and co-ordination, good communication and organisational skills and confidence working with stakeholders. They will also bring a flexible approach, self-initiative and be able to work constructively, and build relationships with people at all levels.

The Public Health and Communities Hub support the Council’s Agile working policy and expect team members to work an average of two days per their working week in the office, which is based in central Gloucester, and to attend ‘in person’ meetings as and when required. New starters will be required to come into the office more often in their first 3 weeks for induction.
