The Role
As Design Manager, you will take ownership of the design process from tender through to delivery, ensuring innovative, practical, and cost-effective solutions are developed and delivered in line with DfE requirements. You will collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and framework partners to ensure projects are designed and built to the highest standards.


Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate design development on DfE framework projects.
Lead design meetings with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with CG17 and other relevant framework standards.
Review design information for buildability, cost-effectiveness, and programme alignment.
Provide technical leadership to support successful project delivery.
Maintain strong relationships with the DfE, local authorities, and supply chain partners.

About You
Proven experience as a Design Manager within a contractor environment.
Essential: Strong background in education projects, with specific experience on DfE frameworks.
Desirable: Experience of working on CG17 framework projects.
Strong technical knowledge of construction processes, building regulations, and modern methods of construction (MMC).
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
