Full-time Site-based (5 days per week)


A leading UK infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Survey Manager to join a flagship highways scheme in Gloucester. This is a key leadership role on a major project, offering the opportunity to shape delivery through high-quality survey control, data management, and team coordination.


The Opportunity

You'll take ownership of all survey-related activities on-site, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently. Working closely with engineering, BIM, and GIS teams, you'll play a central role in maintaining control, tracking progress, and supporting critical construction phases.


Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate site survey teams, providing clear direction and hands-on support
Establish and maintain a robust survey control network
Oversee setting out, topographical and as-built surveys, including laser scanning and point cloud processing
Manage survey data to monitor and report on construction progress
Support earthworks and civils operations through accurate measurement and interpretation
Collaborate with Site Engineers and digital teams to communicate updates, changes, and approvals
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times
Implement QA processes and manage permits to dig for safe execution of works
About You
10+ years' experience in surveying within infrastructure or civil engineering projects
Working towards or holding membership with a recognised body (e.g. CICES, RICS)
Strong understanding of survey control, setting out, and data management
Proficient with survey equipment (Trimble, Leica, Topcon) and software (AutoCAD, Trimble Business Centre, Leica Infinity)
Able to produce 2D/3D drawings and interpret technical data effectively
Confident communicator with strong attention to detail and record-keeping
Experience preparing method statements and risk assessments

Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 Annual +
