Are you an experienced Service Manager, Family Support Manager or Children and Families Manager looking for your next opportunity in Gloucestershire?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established national charity that provides essential support to children, young people and families. Due to increasing demand across Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds, they are looking for a confident and compassionate Service Manager to lead the delivery of their family support and youth engagement services.

There are currently more than 100 families awaiting support, so this is a key role focused on improving access to services, managing referrals and assessments, supporting frontline teams and ensuring families receive the right help as quickly as possible.

The Role:

As Service Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of family support and youth engagement services across Gloucestershire, including the North and South Cotswolds.

You will be responsible for managing and supporting a team of Youth Engagement Workers and Family Support Workers, ensuring caseloads are appropriately managed and services are delivered safely, effectively and in line with organisational standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing referrals, waiting lists and family assessments.
  • Ensuring families are contacted, assessed and allocated appropriate support.
  • Leading and supporting a team of Family Support Workers and Youth Engagement Workers.
  • Providing regular supervision, guidance and performance management.
  • Monitoring caseloads, outcomes, service quality and safeguarding practice.
  • Supporting the development and improvement of services across Gloucestershire.
  • Working collaboratively with local authorities, schools, community organisations and other partner agencies.
  • Ensuring accurate case recording, reporting and compliance.
  • Identifying service pressures, risks and areas requiring additional support.
  • Promoting positive outcomes for children, young people and families.
  • Supporting staff to deliver trauma-informed, person-centred and family-focused interventions.
  • Travelling regularly across Gloucestershire, including the North and South Cotswolds.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced manager with a strong background in family support, youth services, children’s services, social care, early help or community-based services.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience managing family support, youth engagement, children’s services or community support services.
  • Experience supervising and managing frontline staff.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable families.
  • Experience managing referrals, assessments, waiting lists and caseloads.
  • A good understanding of early help, family intervention and multi-agency working.
  • The ability to prioritise a demanding workload and respond to service pressures.
  • Strong communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience monitoring service performance, outcomes and quality.
  • Confidence working with external professionals and partner agencies.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the travel requirements of the role.
  • Experience within a charity, local authority, education, youth work, social care, children’s centre, family hub or early intervention service would be particularly beneficial.
